Read, Write, Revise, and/or Workshop with Me this Summer
1. Revise with one of my poetry toolkits. There are lots of great prompts out there to help writers generate new poems but far fewer to guide writers through the revision process, so I’ve distilled my own favorite revision processes into three budget-friendly toolkits (The Funnel, Signal and Static, and The Wild Redo) you can download and work through at your own pace.
2. One-on-One Poetry Coaching can help you assemble a chapbook, revise a manuscript, start submitting your poems to contests and literary journals, or develop your craft and voice.
3. Read along with me. We’ll read Art in the Light of Conscience (this has been climbing my TBR mountain for a few years and now seems like the time) and meet (on Zoom) to talk about it in late July or early August. This won’t be a lecture or seminar. I’ll have some questions in case our conversation needs a jump start, but mostly I’ll bring thoughts and curiosities to meet your thoughts and curiosities. And no one will judge you if you haven’t finished (or even started) the book. You can opt in and vote on a meeting time here.
4. Attend my virtual generative workshop on Animal Encounters with the Muse Writers Center on Saturday August 9. This workshop will be capped at 8 writers (the perfect size). It’s open to writers of all experience levels—and it will be a great opportunity to turn summer vacation memories into poems.
